Now my colors are finally coming together and I am really learning a lot about painting through these color roughs. It is really such a enjoyable feeling!
It can only be recommended to get your daily color fix:-) I will soon be back with more..
Here is a number of characters that I designed back in the days when I was in Belgium, Ghent. Working for AT anim. and Mark Mertens. The characters where made as a pitch to the Cartoon Media events. I have designed the characters together with Christian Kuntz who was the consultant on it and who helped me kicking my ass when needed:-)
First color pass was made by Louise Seynhaeve.
All final art is drawn and colored by me.
I am very proud of being a part of this wonderful new feature film that I have been invited to collaborate on together by my old colleague/friend Kim Hagen.
He has successfully presented it at Cartoon Movie this year and we are excited to see the further progress and I am looking forward to work more on this project!
The film showed is the teaser trailer painted by Anders Hald and animated by Luca Fattore.
I was directed by Kim from his storyboard and then I made the design and the layout setup.
My Christmas present for my mom this year.
She had for a long time wanted a custom made drawing of my personal project character Francois as an angel, so this year I took the time to make an angelic version of him in heaven:-) It was a pleasure to do, and she was super happy. Thanks for a great christmas time in Denmark!
Here is the gallery print I ordered for the gift. I was really impressed by the the print studio and the accuracy they provided.
Bill is a veteran from the vietnam war who is living on the streets with his dog and all the belongings he has left after returning from the war. Life has been rough but he is still marching on. Luckily he has a playful friend in his dog Django.
I have been fiddling around with some color styles for the BW office sketch I posted some days ago since I thought it could be a bit more interesting than only BW images.. I have made it with 2 tone light and shadow colors, then a linear burner color, blue spot color and white to make some interesting variation. In the end i have mixed the styles over each other instead of hue saturation filter (that seems to loose color in the transaction fade)
And now I look forward to try it on other sketches:-)
